WHAT TO EXPECT: Craft, chat and connect with like minded teens in a relaxed vibe every week for the term.
The aim of this weekly group is to help your teen create and connect. We believe through the process of connecting with others in a supportive, fun, creative way, your teen gets to slow down, be more present, build confidence and see more possibility. Teens have a tough gig at times. The pressures from school, teachers, parents, family, peers, social media and themselves can lead to feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed.
Our aim is to provide a supportive space where teens can tap into their creativity, and connect with others, where there's no pressure to be anything else but themselves, and to help them see that they are enough just the way they are.
We will offer a range of crafting activities from pompom making to polymer clay, pot painting and weaving. Your teen will leave each week feeling more supported, and hopefully more energised and armed to tackle whatever life throws their way.

A little about me.
I'm a psychologist who is obsessed with making/creating. I have a partner and three boys (twins aged 13, and an 11 year old). My partner is also a psychologist and because of our own experience and our professional lives, we have an insight into some of the struggles kids and teens face.
There's lots of evidence now that suggests improving social connection and creativity can be protective factors against anxiety and depression. When we create, we slow down and become more grounded in the present rather than worrying about what's happened in the past or what might happen in the future. Creativity helps us build our confidence by seeing possibilities.
P.S This is not a forum for individual therapy but I'm hoping that being around like minded teens, feeling supported, talking about real stuff, and doing some fun creative projects, that it will feel a bit therapeutic.
